A National Sunday Law About to Be Enforced

Close

The Beast is About to Roar

Many have been wondering how close we are to a National Sunday Law being enforced. While no one knows the date or the time, we have plenty of evidence that it is near. Take for example a tremendously powerful organization whose membership is an impressive who’s who of American Protestantism.
I’m speaking of the Lord’s Day Alliance.
We all know as Adventists who are students of prophecy, that the Catholic church beast will unite with the two horned American lamb-like beast to bring in the Sunday Law. But how this will be accomplished is often not very clear.
I already discussed in a previous Sunday Law News Report of two international organizations that are so powerful that it boggles the mind.
I’m referring to National Council of Churches and the World Council of Churches. These two ecumenical alliance of worldwide denominations wield considerable influence in the Sunday Sabbath agenda. The NCC and WCC represent millions upon millions of Sunday keeping Christians worldwide
Today, we’ll briefly examine a third organization that is boldly seeking to break down the wall of church and state to enforce Sunday sacredness. They have their roots in America, but because of their amazing powerful presence, they influence Catholic and Protestant organizations globally.
The Lord’s Day Alliance of the United States, or the LDA, was founded in 1888 with just six of the major protestant denominations of the United States. Today the vast majority of Protestant churches, (certainly all the major ones), are part of it. Its headquarters are located in Atlanta, Georgia.

According its official website, “The Lord’s Day Alliance of the United States exists to encourage Christians to reclaim the Sabbath–the Lord’s Day–as a day of spiritual and personal renewal, enabling them to impact their communities with the Gospel.”
Listen to this quotation from the Spirit of Prophecy. “In churches and in large gatherings in the open air, ministers will urge upon the people the necessity of keeping the first day of the week.”
(Review and Sabbath Herald, March 18, 1884)
The Lord’s Day Alliance is made up from both Catholic and Protestant denominations. The stated agenda is to have Sunday as a day of rest with businesses being closed on that day.
Following are Churches represented on the board of managers of this organization:
The Roman Catholic church is now part of the the Lord’s day alliance. The other churches include:
African Methodist Episcopal Zion
1.4 million members
United Methodist Church
7.7 million in the United States
American Baptist Convention
1,310,505 members in 5,402 churches
Assemblies of God
12,000 churches
1,780,00 members in the US
and 66 Million worldwide
Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church
Christian Reformed Church
Church of God (Cleveland)
Evangelical Congregational Church
Lutheran Church
Pentecostal Holiness Church
Presbyterian Church in U.S.
The denomination had 1,849,496 members and 20,849 ordained ministers in 10,262 congregations at the end of 2012.

Southern Baptist Convention
The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) is a United States-based Christian denomination. It is the world’s largest Baptist denomination and the largest Protestant body in the United States, with nearly 16 million members as of 2012.
This also makes it the second largest Christian body in the United States, after the Catholic Church. The second largest Christian boody after the Catholic church! And they are strong advocates of a national return to Sunday sacredness.
So in addition to extremely powerful denominations such as Pentecostal, Presbyterian, and Methodist, the two solid gold heavyweights of Catholic and Baptist bring their time, money, and power to the Sunday Law enactment.
Now add the combined might of the National Council of Churches and the World Council of Churches all, you begin to see how a national Sunday Law is just over the horizon. The weight of these huge alliances lobbying the governemt could only bring on sure result.
Here’s an interesting item I came across:
European Sunday Alliance Pledge to Commit Politicians into LEGISLATING Sunday Rest (January 2014)
“The European Sunday Alliance officially launched a Pledge for a work-free Sunday and decent work, ahead of the European elections 2014.
The Pledge is aimed at committing European politicians to the promotion of a common weekly day of rest as well as a legal framework guaranteeing sustainable working time patterns based on the principle of decent work.”
I had no idea there was a European Sunday Alliance. That news item is saying the European Sunday Alliance is commited to influencing Europe’s politicians into making Sunday a sacred day. After considering the information I just shared with you, do you think they’ll eventually succeed? I certainly think so.

Saint of God, you need to get ready, get ready, get ready. Let us pray.
Brethren and sisters, would that I might say something to awaken you to the importance of this time, the significance of the events that are now taking place. I point you to the aggressive movements now being made for the restriction of religious liberty.
God’s sanctified memorial has been torn down, and in its place a false sabbath, bearing no sanctity, stands before the world. And while the powers of darkness are stirring up the elements from beneath, the Lord God of heaven is sending power from above to meet the emergency by arousing His living agencies to exalt the law of heaven.
As America, the land of religious liberty, shall unite with the papacy in forcing the conscience and compelling men to honor the false sabbath, the people of every country on the globe will be led to follow her example.
Our people are not half awake to do all in their power, with the facilities within their reach, to extend the message of warning.
